hi mate,
ta for the reply,
weight wise not sure, as it has lost a lot of the interior now and associated frame work.

I'll mail Paul at v8 tuner regarding this cam to see if he thinks the pistons will need cut outs.

need to think about which lifters to use as well, using crane at the mo.

Probably will need cutouts, quite a lot of lift on that cam.

Hi Tony

Do you want to take a gamble at less than a quit?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rover-V8-Nitrous- ... 0080551433

Quite sure this one will go cheap. Not a lot of people are willing to dig information first for gear they want to buy.
I am almost certain 14viper also works in V8D.

Once more, the Stealth cam from V8D Rob may also suit your needs. And it does not need piston cuts.
Did he mention this cam when you last spoke to him?
And if he is willing to do a deal in return for promotion.....

i have mailed them regarding this cam at the same time i was asking about the 4.1 engine that i have here, but as of yet no responce back regarding either item

I don't think any of them are going to make much difference if you're using your present heads. I know you're itching to change things on it and improve it but you know as well as everyone else its all futile if you don't uprate the heads.

I have a plan though. . . . .

I have some uber tvr 5.0 griff heads in my loft, why not copy the porting on them?

Once thats done get a stage 3 valve and guide kits form v8 tuner and have that installed along with a 3 angle seat cut?

Then you'll feel the difference in cam change.

Get some efi heads then to do it too! They can be had for peanuts from egay or pretty much anywhere! If you have them skimmed then you'll have roughly the same chamber size too plus any other advantage of 4.6 heads will be gone once you start porting.

It'll cost you a set of valves and guides, x2 cheapo heads, some machine work and your time plus you can go "i made them!"

Get the cam done now then but the heads could be this years project to make in your spare time.

im banging in lots of OT at work at the moment,
as it will be quicker for me and cheaper in the end to buy the heads ready done,

BUT if my luck is as good as previous years i'll miss out on the heads again and have to replace something else on the car or around our flat

anyone see any benefit of using the 50233 instead of the 50234 over the piper 285?

That Nitrous cam on Ebay is really wild. It wont tickover under 3000 RPM, but will make a beast of a cam on the strip. Its a one off grind based on a USA spec. I spoke to Andy at Kent cams and he found some old info on it.
But I'm still watching it.
