The rubber tube 'conduit' that protects the door wiring where it runs from the door to body on my SD1 is NLA. It consists of an oval grommet at either end and a convoluted tube in the middle, all one moulding. Pretty well every modern car has similar to the doors and perhaps tailgate. Anyone know of a supplier where I could see if something else could be adapted to fit?

I do a fair bit of harness building and have looked at all my usual suppliers without success.

While they appear universal, they're usually specific fit.

Best option would be find a modern car with one you like then order from them.

I ordered one for my own from MotoMobil in Germany....and even it was supplied wrong. Either it was for a lower spec version, wrong side...not sure,. but it was simply far too small to either fit or house the wires passing through.

Some GT40 blokes found the Renault Clio ones worked well

As you say 2 grommets and a connecting hose.

Not sure on gromet size etc but I am sure a breakers yard would have some for not much money

The other problem is the SD1 uses the older thick insulation wire. And the driver's door contains controls for all 4 windows, central locking controller, door mirrors, speaker and light. So quite a thick bunch of cables.

Even sitting in my dads golf earlier today, the drivers door does have a decent sized conduit.

It's like the VW one I linked on ebay. Chassis side is a rectangular hole in the car with the rubber pointing down, and then over to the door.

Although without cutting a new hole in the car for it, maybe not a perfect solution unless that side could be bonded in some way

I don't think it would be too difficult to bond a hose onto suitable grommets. If you could find both.

Here's another idea - make some new ones. I made a grommet for my Landie to fit an R380 gearstick to a Series transmission tunnel.
Simply design and 3D print the master, make a silicone mould, and cast the part.
