I have stripped and cleaned my distributor for my rebuilt engine but have noticed the felts under the base plate are all hard, and one has disappeared. Does anyone know where they may be available from, otherwise I guess I will have to try and make some. Other than that everything seems to be in good condition, no noticeable play.

I'd try Distributor Doctor. Although must admit to not knowing which parts you mean.

When you remove the shaft there is a thrust washer under the baseplate and the top Bush. The Bush has 5 felt pieces around it, tucked into pockets in the housing. I will try to get a photo later on.
