Just remember that type of starter has the solenoid on the side
where as the sd1 starter has the solenoid hung underneath so if clearance around the starter is an issue it may foul,

Yes - SD1 has the solenoid in a different position to clear the exhaust manifold. May have been why my SD1 seemed to eat starters.

On the plus side it's about half the size and if it meets the OE spec, about twice as powerful. From memory (it's along time ago now) the 4.6L motor is also more powerful than the 4.0L unit although they are visually identical.
