35D8 dizzy, replacement electronic ignition?

Post by Fed_up_Stag-owner »

Hi all,

P6 RV8 now in Stag and running, best laid plans for keeping the 35D8 dizzy (single set of points), have failed, advance / retard is broken. Does the simonbbc electronic replacement have any major issues?

I can answer my question: it does fit but had to remotely mount the ignition amp and fettle

That's no bad thing as BL did just that with later RR and the DLM dizzy.
Mounted on the dizzy, the amp gets too hot and can fail prematurely.

Good luck with your copy. Keep the receipt. :D

I bought one of their vacuum advance modules, lasted all of two months and went south.

Sourced a Lucas one and never looked back.
