Caerbont speedometer. Chimaera

My odometer in my TVR is stuck on 59999 and trip counter doesn't work either. Speedometer is fine. Apparently 'they all do that sir'. Have tried using the recommended procedure: walloping the dash and tapping the glass, but to no avail. Have removed it this afternoon. Does anyone know how I can get into it to manually wind it on to 60k? Seems to be a sealed unit.
I don't fancy waiting 5 months for (not so) speedy cables to fix it.
