Spark Plugs - Megasquirt RV8 4.6

I am just about to fire up my new build 4.6 RV8 - will be managed by Megasquirt with ignition by EDIS 8. The engine is not a race engine and will be used in a 4wd.

I am looking fore recommendation for spark plugs - preferably NGK brand as they are the most easily sourced locally. I am not sure whether the LR specified plugs are still relevant with MS and EDIS.

Thanks

I run a programmable MSD on my stage III 4.6, I also run a 100 BHP NOS shot. I run the car on the road. I just run NGK plugs that are one grade colder than standard. From memory I run the gap at 40 thou.

EDIT...Doh, I should learn to read, I thought that your engine is a race engine! In that case I'm sure that the standard plugs will be fine.

I'm using the plugs specified with the EDIS version of the RV8. Note these are resistor types, which are recommended for EDIS. Don't think MS would make a difference to the choice of plugs with EDIS.

BPR6ES or BPR6E (grooved electrode)18mm plugs, or you can run 16mm plugs BCPR6ES or BCPR6E gapped at 0.9 /1.1mm or 35/40 Thou will work great with your EDIS 8

Thanks to everyone for the information - why the alternative lengths - I would have thought only one was suitable.

Cheers

Looking through the notes from a friends edis based griff 500 says BR8ES and also BP6RES

I think he went to the 8's to avoid knock, but i think BP6RES is a good choice.
