rover v8 to renault transaxle

Post by curtis_caddy »

Hello all, after several google searches on the above topic, this forum kept coming up.
What i am trying to find is a parts supplier to join a rover v8 to a renault box, then the idea is to mid mount the unit in a vw t25 pick up. Will the gearbox work properly mounted to the engine this way round, not sure how they sit in the donor car, gearbox or engine to the front. Was going to mount the engine on the back of the dub box, but the engine sticks out the back, then a mate sugested a renault box and mid mounting, seems like a better idea, just need to find a supplier of parts, any help gladly recieved.

Have a look on the For Sale section of the GT40s forum at www.gt40s.com.

The Renault has the engine in front of the box for most of the applications but for the Alpine the engine was behind the box (Done by flipping the crown wheel)

Try some of the kit car manufacturers
Tornado Sports Cars
Parallel Designs
etc

Or Wealden Engineering
Or Chris Cole
Or Derek Bell

Chris Cole probably your best bet

Do a search on GT40s.com for his contact details

It may be worth trying to contact this chap from the locostbuilders forum. (He has mated his RV8 to an Audi transaxle) http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthr ... tid=110767
