Can anyone help identify this box?
30a0169925D.
I think it's a Sherpa box??? I guess that's no good for my Cobra.
Thanks Mark.

http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=870 so yes it's a sherpa box. This day and age I would say any lt77 should be avoided. They are all ancient now and never were the strongest.

My 5th gear has gone. Other than that my box has done 13,000 miles in the Cob.
Looks like I will dropping it and hopefully repairing.
Going to pop up the local TVR garage at Bells Hill and see what they have.

I'm now running the R380 gearbox with no issues what so ever in the past 8yrs so far,
BUT I think that's all about to change very soon with the new engine lol,

Been trying to source a R380. No joy.
Even the companies that advertise don't seem to have one.

At least that is a relatively easy fix. 5th is in the aluminium housing and doesn't require a full teardown of the box.
That is, if you are not going to do bearings at the same time.
Worth replacing the pump gear while you are in there.

Replacement metal pump gears are available for them which are doubtless much stronger and more durable than the plastic ones.
