Gearbox has recently developed a problem when changing from 3rd to 4th. It will go into 4th but vibrates and knocks and the throw seems longer. The next time I drove the car, the problem had moved to 2nd gear. All the other gears can be engaged as normal. Is this a symptom of remote control bush wear ?

The car is a Westfield SEIGHT.

If bushes are worn or loose, is it a gearbox out job to sort ?

Just to update my post. Problem was due to worn bushes on the remote control assembly. The bottom two had completely disintegrated, so the whole assembly was unstable. Managed to replace all 8 bushes from underneath after many hours of torture. Gear change is now better than it has ever been, so worth the pain.
