Re: Very little oil at rockers...!
The rocker shaft has oil holes in it that need to be correctly positioned. I'd orientate it by that rather than looking for a mark. Make sure it's assembled correctly. Ah, no , there are notches on the ends of the rocker shafts that indicate correct alignment ,both heads are assembled the same as t...

Re: Rocker Gear lubrication
Im thinkin that these are bushed rockers coz they siezed onto the shaft ,I would have thought the oil restrictors would only be fitted to a needle roller pivoted rocker set up as the bush would require some oil pressure to prevent siezure .....much like a big end or main. I think its unlikely that b...

Thanks for the above guys , helped me out a bit too.
What about the small thing on the rear of the left valve cover, some sort of breather but so small.....can I do away with it and plug the hole .

Re: Very little oil at rockers...!
The only easy thing I can think of is the oil pressure relief valve stuck open. You may get a good gush of oil from the filter outlet but there may not be much pressure , try putting your finger over the end of the hose to see if there is pressure ,like spraying with the garden hose .

Re: Car just finished mapping at Lloyds specialist developments
Hi , I have been considering a Kent solid lifter cam but (m228 ) I see you have a m226 and was hoping it may be a tad tamer than the m228 , but I can't find reference to a m226 ......dont spose you could pm me the spec's , and maybe where to get one should I like the spec's.
Thanks

Re: Big End Bearing Uneven Wear
Yup , bent rod , new shells wont fix that. I have heaps of 2nd hand rods , so Im sure someone much closer to you will have a spare too. As long as you get the same type of rod , look at the machined pad just above the big end and get the same rod type .

Re: 1UZ-FE Conrods
Going by your description and the pix , Id say that rod is pretty much exactly what I would expect to get. The numbers are always there in one form or another ,some are stamped on ,some are like yours. They are there so you can keep the correct cap the right way round (numbers always go together as ...

Re: Camshaft end float
I guess at this stage I would do what is needed to reduce that 5mm to maybe .5mm. Just been thinking about cams being tapered and lifters being convex and chuck in 5mm end float and lots of things go out the window. I know the early 3.5s had bugger all stopping end float , mine has a projection on t...
