I'll be trying it out at Crail raceway which is local to me. It's not the best strip in the world as it is just the old WW2 runway surface. Fastest things to run there were some straightliner bikes - mid 8's I think. It's not really suitable for really quick cars - high 9's is the fastest I've seen....

I'm nearly finished my LS1 Minor project after quite a few set backs - 1998 Camaro 5.7 with 4l60, 26 inch tyres and a 3.1 - 1, 9 inch with tru track lsd. I hope it all works :) and hope to be out this summer. I reckon on weight being around a ton, so should be relatively nippy. Engine is standard wi...

I just fitted the thrusts to both block and cap despite having bought a plain bearing. The folk who ground my crank said it would be fine to do this - and it has been (clevite parts).

Just ensure that these suspension towers are properly braced - you'll be surprised how much they move if not.

I'd very similar damage when a piece of unknown metal got in to the bores and it transferred between 4 pots - scrapped the engine. Pics are on here somewhere.

When car was revved there was insufficient oil being sucked up, hence the rattle. It was ok at sub 3k revs, but when it happened it took a while to go away again. Funny thing is that the oil pressure never wavered, s...

Lexus engine would be my choice.

I'm biased of course as I run an LS 400 as my daily (290bhp).

I'll second the priming of the pump through the oil pressure switch. You are basically back filling it.
I used a small bore hose to fit over threads of oil pressure gauge connection and then attached a small funnel.

Engine back in now with good oil pressure and no rattles - job done :D .
Crank grind I thought was a bit pricey at £230 though.
