I do remember my first RV8 in a '69 P6 suffered badly from plug fouling 'till BL changed the spec to an extended nose type. Both Champion. But when NGK came to this country I changed to them and never looked back. I've got a MS and EDIS on my SD1 EFI - is there a better than standard plug for this c...

Inlet manifold gasket
Picked up a new one today for the SD1 from a Landie independent only to find it was black. Seals far better, they said. Do you still use Hylomar round the water ports as per the BL manual? But it was good to re-discover AutoPost who are now in Merton. I last used them when they were in Balham, and t...

Re: interesting finds......
[snip] As the car was first registered at the end of august '78, this must've been put in there by some bloke in the factory after he'd finished with it on his tea-break! Must haver been management being the Express - the Sun or Mirror for an assembly worker? ;-) This got me thinking, has anyone ev...

Re: SU Carburetta over flowing
:( Does anyone know what might cause the carburetta to overflow when I turn the ignition on? it didn't used to happen, is only recent problem. It is a Rover V8 engine, the SU carburettas have been reconditioned but it is still happening. FYI, the engine is fitted in a Triumph Stag, and it has alrea...

I went for a Tech Edge unit (WBo2 2Y with LDo2 display) - it's available as a DIY kit which means it can be repaired if it fails. That does also mean the ECU is rather larger than others since it uses standard size components rather than surface mount. But it's worked just fine in the 2 years I've h...

Re: Condenser?
Hi, Are you guys running a condenser (0.2uF cap) between coil +ve and GND? I have the "forum" amp module. Should I be running a condenser as well? A quick goggle reveals that there may be benefits even on a non points system? What do you guys run? The capacitor on a points system sits across the po...

It's £4.71 from Rimmers, so this bloke is clearly in cloud cuckoo land! Chris. You'd likely get one from your local plumber's merchant for pennies. Might not be quite the right rubber - it does need to withstand petrochemicals rather than dihydrogen monoxide..... Chris. Likely all a synthetic rubbe...

A body shop that does jig work would be you best bet here. You could also try and get a data book from a jig manufacturer. General manuals never have this stuff as its useless to 99% of people. I doubt even anyone who does 4 wheel alignment will have the data. I had the SD1 checked after fitting a ...
