The Rhodes bleed down lifters can be noisy at low rpm as they need rpm to pump up fully. However!! Oil gushing from the rockers to the point where the oil can reach overflow point with the covers off means you have way too much oil seeping out. Rockers must be loose on the shafts? At idle you should...

Looks pretty good so far Sean! But remember the hose fittings have a smaller bore than the hose. The elbow looks to be 8-10mm bore? There is plenty of metal that can be bored out here. The old 3500 engines had two rocker breathers via flame traps into the air filter area as well as the small breathe...

Thanks. That's helpful. Just so that I am clear and order the correct parts... In your pic back right the chrome tube is a flame trap and or PCV valve which would connect via a tube to the PCV port on the front of the Edelbrok carb. This is effectively the ventilation port for the crankcase gasses....

762cc @ 5000 rpm with a VE of 127% @ 5000 rpm = 112cfm of air required. Dont get too deep into theory right now Garry! The part of your induction system that meters the correct amount of air into the engine is the thottle body. Unless you will have an air inlet pipe that is 10 feet long or more you ...

Re: Cork or rubber?
I fitted new heads a couple of years ago, and naturally new gaskets. Used rubber ones for the rocker covers - with the steel inserts for the screws. Think they came from Rimmer. One of them is leaking badly. The screws are still tight. Now cork gaskets didn't last forever, but definitely longer tha...
