Re: Power drop when under load/accelerate
Personally I'd think if you've recently been tweaking/changing things in the fuel system there is much more chance that the problem is located there such as delivery flow, it's easy to have enough pressure to feed the engines needs at idle but when more fuel is demanded the flow can't keep up. Woul...

The belt below the alternator looked to be flapping about a bit. Is it tensioned enough?

Re: Fuel pump size
As long as the pump can keep the carb full, it'll be fine.

Munich might be tough, as this is mostly UK based. Search the forum for 'cracked block', 'slipped' ,'liners' and see what crops up. viewforum.php?f=12 would be a good place to browse/post

Welcome. The amount of knowledge here is huge. It's not as active as it used to be but what you need to know you can probably find

Probably exactly the sameThe last posts here on this were years ago so I'm wondering what the current thinking is?

Re: What temperature does petrol vapourise in fuel rails?
I don't have any spare inputs on the ECU, but I've got an ESP32 doing logging duties and I can merge that with ECU logs with a little extra work. I haven't managed to find a fuel pressure sensor I can easily integrate (yet), but I'm going to add some temperature sensors to the fuel pump, the swirl p...

Re: What temperature does petrol vapourise in fuel rails?
Thanks, that makes sense as it occurred at a time of a reasonable spell at 70 so if LP wasn't feeding, the swirl pot could have drained and then refilled when I stopped. I have a restriction in the line back to the main tank as I was led to believe the LP pump needs something to work against. It's (...

What temperature does petrol vapourise in fuel rails?
I was doing a 100 mile journey yesterday and my car cut out twice. I let it sit for 5 minutes and it would restart and I continued the journey. After the first time, I plugged in my laptop and caught the second conk out in the attached log at about 3300 seconds onwards. It looks like pulse width sta...

Re: RV8 valley gasket rubber seals
From what I recall, the rubber seals go under the gasket which is then clamped on top. The rubber seal doesn't care what's on top of it.

Re: How to use lambda sensors?
A lambda sensor is a very accurate nose. It smells your exhaust and tells you if you are rich or lean and by how much. You need to know how rich or lean your engine should be at specific times (warm up, idle, cruise, load, acceleration, deceleration) and then compare that to what you see on the gaug...

Re: How to use lambda sensors?
I've got one of these in my car https://ldperformance.co.uk/product/wid ... ontroller/ I'm only plugged into one bank of the engine, but as I've got a very carb like set up with fuel/air going through a shared plenum I can't do per bank/cylinder tuning anyway.

Re: Rover V8 Engine Numbers Updated:
This is very likely wishful thinking, but is there any way of getting the age of a specific engine? My car was built with a 3.5 from an SD1 which I was told was from 1984. However, the engine number range goes out to 1987 and if I want to argue with Mr MOT that it should be tested to pre 1986 standa...
