My Sherpa V8 has a header tank. There's a big (5/8ths bore) pipe from the bottom of the header tank into the bottom hose. Then there's a small (probably 1/4 bore) vent pipe from the top of the radiator to the middle of the header tank to make filling quicker.

So this is a header tank (as opposed to an expansion tank), and so it will be higher than the top of the rad?

All I did to shut off the EFi system was to interrupt the wire between coil -ve and the ECU. I reused the overrun cutoff relay, just moved the control wire to the safety thing. I checked over the weekend - there is a blue / white wire coming from the overrun shutoff relay, and I have connected this...

No, the tank is just tank shaped (with the valves & stuff). It's held in place with some straps going to the frame.

In fact there are some lousy pics on here as well:

I would say that 0W/40 is way too thin for that engine......

I run 20W/50 in both my V8's. But I'm not sure of your engine spec.

I've put some pics of my install at http://www.cowdery.org.uk/lpg.php If you've got a flapper system, you don't need any of that emulation junk. There should be a mark on the tank indicating top. The valve area should be at about the angle shown in the picture. If you get it wrong, it will either un...

Hmm, I don't know how to spec a vapouriser to make sure it matches a mixer. Suck it & see I guess. Pipe is good. That seller talks borrox about improving performance and MPG. Utter rubbish. You'll lose both, but gain on fuel cost! You need a bit more than a switch. You need a safety relay thing that...

Hi Bodger, OK, I have a Flapper EFi with LPG conversion in my sherpa, although it's only the 200 series (a smaller brick!). I've spent ages & a small fortune fiddling around trying to get something that works OK. Get a plenum mixer, as the hole in the flapper-mounted mixer is tiny and kills performa...

Consequently, when it comes down to it, and because they are pretty easy to find on Ebay, etc, most owners would do themselves a favour to obtain a small set of good system spares such as ECU, AFM, TP, Regulator and etc to enhance their ability to solve these problems! Agreed - I keep a complete se...

You mean in the heater outlets on the back of the pump? Yes you can open them out. I think it's a core plug in the blanked off one, but I could be wrong.

I did exactly that to use a P6 inlet manifold on an EFi front cover.

Must admit it doesn't sound too healthy to me!

You could increase the idle speed a bit, but I guess you need to check ignition timing / idle mixture.

But that knocking noise doesn't sound good at all......

FHC - Fixed Head Coupe, i.e. hardtop
DHC - Drop Head Coupe, i.e. softtop.

bit of old fashioned terminology.
