I'm sure if you numbered them and measured how far they went you could use it as some sort of diagnostic....

Find someone competent at tuning and they should be able to tell quite easily if things are going smoothly, or if there is a suspect mechanical or other problem. But more than likely it is just tuning....and even you're admitting the tuning is all over the place. That's the issue I've had to be hon...

I seem to recollect that the lever housing from a V8 Sherpa van was the shortest you could get, possibly the one in the image above.

Our stupid legislation makes it more or less impoosible to stuff a V8 into a small car. You can only increase the capacity +25 % over the largest engine within the model range. Holden Commodore == Vauxhall Omega but with bigger engines. When I was in Aus/NZ I think the smallest I drove was a 3.8 V6
