Hi Jono,

Oil level sensor mate, put a light on the dash, a yellow one if i remember correctly in the warning light cluster.

Thats the sort of set up I am aiming for, with out the retard unit as no blower, good to know the Hyfire will work with my dizzy too.

Hi,

No problem as such, just looking at possability's, like the idea of keeping things old school ish dont want to go fuel injection at the moment.

Hi Pete, Measured the Group A shafts, had use a vernier as micrometer at work but 22mm ish if remenber stock one's are about 20.5 mm ish A bit difficult to measure the O.D. of the bushes as the new ones have a split in them but approx 23.5 mm. Not sure about offset boring the bushes, ie what increas...

Hi Pete,

The bushes came from Sweden via CVI Automotive, being Volvo in origin.
The rocker shafts on the Group A are off a larger diameter than the standard Rover v8 so you need them you were to fit them into rebored alloy arms.

Will post sizes little later.

Hi, Bit of an update, decided to cut the old bushes out, using a junior hacksaw very very carefully cut throught the bush, not into the arm !! and it came out fairly easy. Hi Mike, had thought the same thing, one problem no lathe !! I am having a set of wheels powder coated for my standard TR7 at Markells in Luton, they also do engineering so may have a word with them when i pick my wheels up. Have found some special tools at work ( work as a tech at BMW dealership ) ...

Hi Perry, The other hole does indeed feed the pushrod, however the new adjuster screws i got, genuine Volvo, block this up. The original one's had a groove around them and hollow but as were tack welded in place couldnt re-use them. I have modular hollow push rods anyway. There oil comming out the s...

Hi, Thanks for your reply, took rockers off tonight and as predicted bush on the last rocker worn, others look fine as do the shafts. Group A Rocker Bushes

Hi, A few months ago whilst looking out for a set of adjustable pushrods, to replace pre-load shims i have my on heads, a set of Group A SD1 adjustable rockers came up on Ebay, was the only bidder and won them for a tenner. Replaced the adjusters after grinding the welds off. Fitted them no problem....

What Ignition System Are You Running ?

Hi,

At the moment got a Mallory twin point dizzy with there E Spark conversion doing away with the points and a Mallory coil. On my 4.6.

I now want to add a MSD or Mallory Hy-Fire box and bigger coil, was wondering what sort of of system you gents were running ? Or any recommendations ?
