So where's the vid of starting it with the tennis balls on then? :D

I'm sure if you numbered them and measured how far they went you could use it as some sort of diagnostic....

Find someone competent at tuning and they should be able to tell quite easily if things are going smoothly, or if there is a suspect mechanical or other problem. But more than likely it is just tuning....and even you're admitting the tuning is all over the place. That's the issue I've had to be hon...

I seem to recollect that the lever housing from a V8 Sherpa van was the shortest you could get, possibly the one in the image above.

My top hose is the highest part of my system. I cut it and put in a short length of aluminium pipe. I then fitted to that a screw in cap and put a bike tyre valve in that. I now fill through the cap, and once the system starts to pressurise I can vent the air by pushing in the valve with an allen ke...

Our stupid legislation makes it more or less impoosible to stuff a V8 into a small car. You can only increase the capacity +25 % over the largest engine within the model range. So, it is tempting to create a 2 litre V8 using a TVR flat plane crank and get a legal V8 equipped car. Then there are the...

But not a cheap one from eBay. I know a lot of people who thought they were getting a bargin, but got something that would not hold a steady pressure.

Thanks for all the comments, informative and educational :) The picture of the return pipe is a little misleading, I can easily flex it lower than the inlet to the pump and flush any air out of it. I have a blocked off input to the pump, so at first I thought I'd take the sensor off the back of the ...

I had my water system piped with the hose from the thermostat bypass connected to the back of the water pump as in your pics. When driving at motorway speeds I found it was pumping cooled water directly onto the back of the stat making it close. The temp gauge was reading 120 but the fans wouldn't ...

Thermostat opens, engine gets hotter! What's going on?

I'm seeing odd behaviour in my datalogs from my Megasquirt. This is from my car in the garage tonight. Engine starts and runs and gets warmer over time. From the log, it looks like when the thermostat opens, the engine heats up rapidly. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-wS-lC1llvcA/UeRQqDWJENI/AAAA...
