I'm not really going to mess too much with the current set up. It's probably geared too high for the strip anyway - 3 - 1 diff with 26 inch tyres giving 72mph @ 2k revs. If I got into the 11's with current set up I'd be more than happy, but really I'm pretty pleased anyway as it's a general purpose ...

2nd outing for LS Minor

I put in 13 runs yesterday in my Minor with a best of 12.241 @ 113.1, but all runs were in the mid to low 12's. Here's the best run figures: Reaction time 0.366 60 foot - 1.973 1/8th mile TV 92 mph 1/8th time 7.871 1/4 12.241 speed 113.1 Due to the way the car is built, it is difficult to left foot ...

My 3.5 auto P6 snapped a diff shaft - I couldn't believe how puny they were.

Tyres are quite grippy and I can't left foot brake due to lack of room in that area. I also need to upgrade front brakes as they are just standard Cortina discs - non ventilated.
Hopefully get it sorted for next year when I'll hope for 11's

First outing for LS Minor

I went to Crail Raceway yesterday with my son in my other V8 Minor to see how it would go. Best run was a 12.9 at 103, but this was taking it easy due to me not knowing how it would react. It was a bit sideways off the line (no room in car for 2 feet on pedals, so starts from idle), then on re appli...

I fitted a 3.5KW modular mini heater from here:

They actually made it slightly smaller for me as space was very limited. It works really well - too hot if truth be told :D

I used the ez loom for the car, but used the complete engine loom for the engine/box. I can't recall the kit I got, but it is the mini fuses version with more than just the basic number of circuits - most popular model apparently and was only around $10 more than the basic loom. It was a bit long fo...

You can buy a generic wiring loom from quite a few places. I used an ez wiring loom - picked it up in the States when on holiday. All the wires are clearly labelled and connected to fuse box -just pick how many circuits you require:

This engine is very popular in Australia, and now in the drifting scene here, so I'm sure the wiring issues are well documented. I'm sure it will come down to the usual few wires to connect - much like the LS 1 motor in my Minor. This will be my engine of choice when I get on with re-commissioning a...
