Like Pel we have the rocker covers off very frequently. We use cork gaskets and the same method of securing them, never a problem. When we melted pistons the valley gasket failed but the rocker cover seal remained intact.

Cork for me everytime.

Love the car, must be real fun on the road. The bigger front tyres will have a noticeable influence on times. More rotating unsprung weight and a longer rollout will affect ET's. The slight change in mph is probably accounted for by the air on the day. Even on our car the times can change 2/10ths or...

The story continues

So we are back at Shakey for the second round, quite hot and very humid conditions. 70% or 65% for the whole weekend, we ran Saturday twice, exciting moment when in the lanes and a Beetle got vertical and demolished the Christmas tree, this following an oil down meant a long time in the lanes and a ...

you cannot hurt anything with a pump too big, however you can make an expensive loss with one too small. The cost of a decent pump is way less than getting this wrong.

I think you can make that with the new set-up, as long as she doesn't try to fly! Still the Rover for us and still only 4 litres, 5% overdraive and about 16 lbs of boost.

Good luck Perry, hope to see you at Dragstalgia, we will be at Yanks weekend at Shakey in two weeks time.

New season for Daddy Cool

What a weekend PB's for fun, never hurt a thing and the car was flying. Finished with a best pass of 8.84 @ 149.43. A tenth quicker and 5 mph faster then ever. 7 passes, 5 in the eights, 4 in the 8.80's and 9 flat and a 9.03. Happy? Bet your boots we are happy!

that is a stock chain from the look of things, just upgraded with a steel gear instead of the original nylon one. A replacement chain and sprocket set is cheap enough and well worth fitting looking at that chain. Or upgrade to a proper twin row roller chain and matching sprockets.

That Hot Rod quote is accurate when you consider that most American V8's use trunnion mounted rockers and valve clearance or pre-load is set by raising and lowering the pivot point of the rocker. With shaft mounted rockers like a Rover then this must be addressed separately. The statement is not inc...

On both the P6 and the SD1 the oil pump gears sit within the casting and the pump cover is flat. The casting is just deeper to match on the SD1. Measure the depth of the idler gear on both covers, if they are the same then you probably have 2 P6 covers, alternatively the popular pump mod kit used de...
