Re: Engine stumbles powering thru corners

It must be fuel surge within the carb, I'd say, assuming plenty fuel in the tank? Rather than a regulator problem?

Re: Engine stumbles powering thru corners

I assume you've double-checked the fuel level is correct? If it is and surging is causing it to run weak, I'd guess you wouldn't be the first to experience this. Is a baffle kit available to help control it?

Re: High Oil Pressure

Since the relief valve must have been sticking closed, I'd expect a good clean to sort it?

Re: High Oil Pressure

Must admit to surprise that a fully hot RV8 could make 50 psi even with the valve firmly shut. :D

Re: High Oil Pressure

Intermittent fault on either gauge or sender? Huge fluctuation in battery voltage causing gauge to read wrong Ian Dunno about all, but the SD1 which has an electric gauge has a voltage compensating winding built in. IIRC, essential with a moving coil meter. And you need a moving coil meter to react...

Does the Audi box have an adaptor plate or special bell housing to mate to the RV8?

Re: It's only me

Perhaps I shouldn't have recommended him - not knowing how busy he is. He may well get too many general enquiries to reply to all of them. Thing with MS is that it's a DIY system in essence. And excellent value. If you don't intend DIYing, best to find your tuner first, and fit the after market syst...

Re: SU carbs and CO2

I think you likely mean CO? The limit for this depends on the age of the vehicle. If between 1/8/75 and 1/8/86, it is 4.5% maximum, which rather obviously SU carbs can meet, given how many vehicles are fitted with them. First check the ignition system is good. No misfiring, etc. And that the timing ...

Re: It's only me

Must admit to not understanding why. Obviously, setting up an MS from scratch requires knowledge of the product. But once it is running, you'd have thought anyone with a rolling road could tune it for maximum output. VEAL, and a bit of time, will take care of the rest, on a quiet bit of road.

Re: It's only me

I'd contact James Murray who writes the software for MS, and is midlands based. He should be able to help, or know someone who can. Wonder of it's the same Shaun who tuned a pal's SD1 with MS2 who lives in California. Seems he made a pretty decent job of that. If so, hope he's OK. If you have a dece...

Re: It's only me

That's awesome! I don't know of anyone local (I'm in Harpenden) unfortunately. I'm slowly fiddling with my Speeduino setup, but it's nowhere near as wild as yours :) :nw There's a chap in the SD1 club who seems to like Speeduino. It certainly seems excellent value. I bought a PCB intending to build...

Re: Battery disconnect.

Yes - I was just curious. I'm not sure what the base metal it is made of is. It hasn't rusted where the plating has worn off. Something easy to cast - but a bit stronger than pot metal. I'm guessing some form of corrosion between the metal and the plating? Other people have had exactly the same with...

Re: Rush Super Seven V8 4.6 P38

Thanks richard, the car have individually throttle body's and a trijekt ECU . But I have kalt and warmup startproblems. The standalone ECU is very individual but I don't know which numbers belong there. I am searching for the stock Map to assess the numbers. Not heard of that ECU, but pretty well a...

Re: Battery disconnect.

Sorry - to clarify. It worked just fine for a few years. Just curious why a heavy load like the starter made it go totally open circuit - like a fuse blowing. Then fiddling with the wheel bolt gets it going again - for a while. Basically, wondered what sort of chemical process or whatever was going ...
