Thanks for the help.....i think the rallydesign place the fitting is brass which is no good ........but hopefully thinkauto has it in steel.......You'd think they would have them over the pond here but everyone i've spoke to or looked on websites uses an adapter fitting

My 3500S NADA has a brake line coming from the brake pressure failure switch to the servo slave cylinder which has 3/8-24 UNF thread on one end and 7/16-20 UNF thread on the other............my question is where do i find a new 7/16-20 UNF thread nut that fits the 3/16 inch brake line.......i have l...

HRC 2479 Heads

I've been given a set of HRC2479 heads and i have a 3.5 P6 engine my friend wants to rebuild.......will they be useable or are they just for 4.0 engines and up and if they are good are the accessory holes the same as the earlier heads........

Head compatability

I've been given a set of HRC2479 heads and i have a 3.5 P6 engine my friend wants to rebuild.......will they be useable or are they just for 4.0 engines and up and if they are good are the accessory holes the same as the earlier heads.........i presently have a 3.5 with 3.9 heads on it

can you use dot4 or synthetic brake fluid in older P6 Rover

just trying to see if anyone has upgraded their brake fluid to a more modern fluid and if they have had any problems...........my brakes are all rebuilt so there is no worry of lines blowing etc

Thank you all for the help........this is my 1st rebuild of a v8 ........i've rebuilt the Rover 4 cyl but this is all new to me and i worry about everything LOL

I removed the shafts and have plenty of oil coming out the front holes.........bolted it all back down and still see nothing at the rockers but with the pushrods bolcking the holes maybe i'm not supposed to see a lot........i loosened the rear shaft bolts again and have lots of oil in the shafts ......

Hi Ron I checked the shafts........they are correct.........although they don't have grooves like the 3.5 ones i took off...........i put 3.9 heads on and the shafts for the rockers only have a slight notching on the one end so i used that as the grooves ............i'll remove them today and see if...

which side

right side looking from the rear of engine or right side looking from the front.........alternator side or distributor side(or oil dipstick side).........To me that should be the right side...........which is right side

New oil pump on rebuild

I've rebuilt my 3.5 and put new (Real Steel) high volume gears in the oil pump............i packed the pump with vaseline and after putting the heads and intake back on have primed the pump with a drill...........i'm getting oil in the lifter valley but no visible oil in the rocker shafts..............

3500S oil dipstick tube

I have a 1971 Rover 3500S and rebuilding the 3.5L engine...........I put the dipstick tube into the block and the bottom of the tube has snapped off in the block..........i've got it out but now need a new tube for the engine...........Has anyone got a spare one lying around or do ones off an early ...

i ave a set of 3.9 heads i'm putting on my 3.5 P6 Rover and since they aren,t from the car and i have had them refinished i can't seem to tell the difference in them so as i go to install them i don't see which is the right and left head.......on the 3.5 the outter hole on the right was outside the ...

Core plug replacement

I have new core plugs and have the old ones out............what is the best method of installing them, and what type of sealant is used........i leary of using silicone..........i also remember seeing a video on you tube on this from say RPI but can't find it now.....anyone
