"Recorded" Wall Thickness

Trigger wheel options
I remember TVRLeigh posted a thread about a pretty simple method of mounting a trigger wheel on a serpentine balancer.
I think this is the thread.

Using an edge graduated ruler, I measure 5 inches from the block face to the front edge of the crankshaft pully. Maybe 5 and 1/32. http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww150/MDTine/DSC02301.jpg http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww150/MDTine/DSC02303.jpg http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww150/MDTine...

4.6 GEMS cover dimensions
The front cover on my GEMS 4.6 measures just 5 inches from the block face to the front of the crank pulley.
I have a photo that I'll post if someone can tell me how.

Scott, From my understanding the GEMS engine runs a true sequential fuel injection system which requires the cam sensor to time the injection pulses for each cylinder, unlike the older Hot Wire systems which use batch fired injectors. Unless you are going to switch to a carbureted intake or an older...

There is a great guy here in the US who has just introduced a 4 link kit for the MGB (not affiliated). They have been testing it for quite a while and it’s supposed to be pretty bullet proof and capable of handling the 400+ lb/ft of torque from the big Ford and Chevy engines. At $1103 US it’s pricy ...

I just joined the forum so I could post a reply to this thread. I have been thinking of the same modification for my MGB project and found the following link which shows some photos of the modifications necessary to fit the GEMS trigger wheel to a manual SD1 flywheel. You may be able to get more spe...
