Re: What gearbox can I fit, 2 wheel drive

Rules and regs, if it was a few years ago the crossmember would have been replaced in a different position but somehow I see it as a challenge to find a way around tis issue and keep things as they are. The price of theses lt77 boxes are getting growing by the day it seems and came across a jag s ty...

Re: What gearbox can I fit, 2 wheel drive

Thank you for all your replies, seems as though there are many options open mostly very aged though. I wonder were there any thoughts or options to remove the transfer box from an auto and making /getting a method for supporting the output shaft and directly fitting a prop shaft instead of replacing...

What gearbox can I fit, 2 wheel drive

I'm currently looking to replace the flathead v8 and manual (very short ) gearbox from a 47 pickup . There is limited length due to a chassis crossmember that cradles the end of the box . This cannot be modified so have to fit the new engine and box forward. I'm sure I'm probably going over old grou...

Well as promised, a reply. I found the solution to be adding engine oil over the correct level as indicated on the dipstick. Problem sorted, though I'm not sure why.

RV8 Noise

I have a rover v8 fitted in a ford f100 that is a recent purchase which has an intermittent tappet noise. I checked the angle that it sits in the chassis which is 3 degrease downward tilt at the gearbox tail shaft On the over run when braking it develops a noisy tappet ( very loud ) that slowly gets...

Well that's exactly what the plan is, any idea what power would be expected by using the 4.0 engine and running it on carbs and a mild cam?
and the same with the 4.6?

A to change from negative to positive caster at 3 degrees and, would make a difference to straight line stability. Could be worth the effort.

Rover engine types help please

Currently I have an p6 engine in my P5B and am currently looking for more power. Looking at ebay reveals Rover 3.9 4.0 4.6 engines available. Seems a bit confusing to me so, as an example could I fit the 4.6 engine and make it look externally like the original or is it completely different. If so wh...

p5b engine number 4511926D ?

Ive found the engine number on the cylinder bank instead of the bellhousing so I'm assuming the engine has been changed, but can't find the number in the list. It does have the leyland symbol and 9.5:1 CR
Any ideas please?, 45119263D

Caster angle change

I'm looking for the easiest way to measure CASTER angle please, any suggestions for special tools etc.?
Although the suspension has no adjustment I need to find out what the angle is now and try somehow to make changes.
Thanks Steve

Leaking fuel pump

I'm sure it's been asked before, but what makes enging oil leak from my RV8 mechanical fuel pump, I've been told it could be due to excessive crankcase pressure but , could there be another reason?
Thanks in advance
Steve
