Edelbrock Antics
Back after a long time sick. Trying to get a bit more economy from My 3.5 RV8. Edelbrock 1404, Offy Dual Port manifold. Running the Eddy stock standard she starts first second on the key, runs and sounds superb. But getting a bit thirsty. So decided to try 1 stage lean. 86 Jet, silver springs and 67...

Sump, Oil {Pick up pipe
I had two small leaks in my sump, probably from stones. The fitted sump was removed cleaned and I tried to weld it up but it had already been badly modified with thin steel and it just continually blew through. So, I took the sump off the spare V8 I have but it is a different shape with respect to t...

Thanks Kevin, I'll pass this all on to him. I just suggested it as an option when I was told his existing engine was pretty much useless. As someone who rebuilt 3 MG's in the 70's and 80's I realise the problems, other than the engine and g/box swap that he's liable to find. I think after I suggeste...

RV8 Into MGB Costings?
Posted for a friend. He has a Rubber Bumpered 1978 MGBGT. His son blew the engine at the weekend and I suggested that, as the car was totally restored 3 years ago, might it be a good idea to bung an RV8 into it, rather than replacing the 1800 lump. So. assuming he can buy his own RV8 engine and box,...

Spoke to several Towbar companies today. Was told that a Legal custom towbar can be made up for any car, but one company chappie said, "You dont think all those blokes towing trailers with their Motorbikes have EU registered towbars do you". Another said, "just take your V5 with you and show them th...

Legal Towbar question
Ive got a Cobra replica with an RV8 fitted and Ive just finished and fitted a Towbar/Towball unit. Its for towing a small Teardrop van to Le Mans and various others shows as well as for camping. Now I note the law states: "European Law now states that all light passenger vehicles registered on or af...

Plug Lead 'Tidies'
Anyone have any websites that do a unit that secure the Plug leads?
Ive got the plastic lead tidies fro the SD1 but would like something a bit more practial and pleasing on the eye as well as efficient.

Not wishing to sound defeatist, but are you sure it is worth the effort? I think it might be worth at least investing in a new metering block if it is that stuck, the jet the metering rod is in is probably furred up aswell and the passages behind it, it certainly won't be the intended size by the t...
