Mystic meg moment, I see two paths for you, the first is you trying to drill out the extractor and breaking the drill in the hole along with the extractor, meaning the whole thing is bolloxed, The second path is more daiunting but it makes more sense. The bolt is in the waterway so it corroded, they...

Whoah, reread your post, there's nothing wrong with the dizzy. You have a spark to the cap, but it's not transmitting fromt he king lead to the rest of the HT leads, thats not the fault of the dizzy. 2 case sceanrios, 1 the rotor is the wrong one and is not contacting correctly, 2 the rotor has lift...

Scratching my head trying to remember the jet sizes we had, but it's not coming to me. You need to rejet those mains, there robbing you power and lots of it, as long as hte heads can breath your due to see lot's more power all through the rev range. time to weld in a sensor and get a A/F meter going...

For the cost why not just get some B6ES's or ECS's, not sure what the licting is now, they will only cost about £10 and you will not do any harm with them. Just keep an eye on temp guage. with the compression your running you should get away with 6's but I'm surprised the 7's are giving you problems...

Cut turn and rotate. tiny has one on the saph. Paul Nash in high wycombe used to do them for us. there is one that is rotated but it hits most headers instead. It's worth trying to set up the welder up as you can't go to wrong with welding a starter. The high torque offers a geared drive so if it ge...

I'd second the dual alternator route, underdrive the secondary one as you will not be hammering the winch all the time, very cheap and you will be able to use any battery rather than matching pair (if you are running a true dual battery system), we used to do this in the early days of car stereos an...

Oh now your asking, anyone with a late SDi manual or late rangie? I don't have anything that new, I guessed mine at around 14 thou close enough to ensure good pick up but far enough away to miss if any play. 0.014-0.016 would be close enough, make sure there is no play, unlikely as it would miss all...

2 things spring to mind, change the amp on the side of the dizzy, also think about the coil as it sounds like it's breaking down under heavier loads. Also pop the cap off and see it the inner shaft of the dizzy (after you have taken the rotor off) moves up and down, it's held in place with a fiber w...

Renegade kit is overrated and over priced, they only jsut sorted the sump out for the ls1 2 years ago, they exhaust system is pants and the mounts need jigging to fit. Why bother, it's a porsche  there are other conversions for much less and work a lot better. As for the Capri, you need to out ...

The volvo ones were p-180 or something like that, they also were handed so you needed 2 sets. They were like everything of that era, they were used to do a job, but it was hardly optimal, they gave a slightly higher ratio and they confirmed to some BS regulations for racing (standard equiptment or s...

Spark plug referance

I'm surprised this issue is not more common but for those who are sometimes confused about spark plug numbers here's a guide I did many years ago. I'll start with the big 2 champion and NGK because they are available everywhere. Champion, eg RN4V R = Prefix number for plug type (either a resistor or...
