Thanks for the tip Chris, i've phoned them today and they can test it for £60 so that sounds reasonable, thanks again I was'nt having any luck finding a place! What would be the best way to clean the block before taking it in do you think?

block pressure testing

I've stripped down my 4.6 rv8 for a clean and inspection, the liners look ok but i'd like the block pressure tested before re assembly ( just in case) so... does any one know / recommend anyone in the west midlands that could do this for me? thanks :D

Advice please for rv8 4.6 swap

Hi, I have bought a secondhand 4.6 that I intend to strip down and check over ( pressure test etc) which I intend to then put in my escort that currently has a 3.5. The car is a lt77 box, 3.5 with 390 holley which has possibly had work done to it before I bought it as it put out 201bhp at the flywhe...

Can anyone help, my electric fuel pumps body has cracked and so is knackered, but I have no idea which sort I need to replace it. The motor is a 3.5 standard rover with a 390 holley in a mk1 escort, any ideas which sort or what pressure it needs to run at? also where the cheapest place to get one?? ...

Thanks for that, thats definatly food for though and very kind of you to offer advice. I will definatly try to install no2 on both my cars, and will try to build my own pretty much from scratch, as far as i can see the only real expense seems to be the solenoids or won pulsoids, the rest ( bottle va...

nitrous diy

I've been toying with the idea of n20 for some time, but basically can't afford the kit! ( about £500 won, to fit rv8 3.5, holley 390) i have read this site www.nitrous.info/ and it seems quite probable that it wouldn't be too hard to build your own system, have any of you guys tried this? and with ...

just read this thread, i did this conversion a few years ago and can say that i tried every manifold set going sd1, p6 etc and i could only just get the mgv8 huggers to fit! other than that it would be a case of a set of custom headers! if you need any advice (if i can help) just let me know

I have to say guys, i think the article was downbeat about the rv8 but then again the rv8 has a huge following and no damage has been done, my car was near enough the lowest performer (escort) and would loved a bit of bragging rights but i'm more than happy with just getting my car in a mag!.....thi...

what do you guys think to this idea?

I have a 9.75 cr sd1 v8 that is completely standard other than a 390 holley fitted with a 360 manifold, and a set of mgb block huggers which i know are restrictive but i had no space for anything else. My car was rolling roaded and featured in this months ppc at 145 bhp (grey escort). What sort of p...
