I have calculated the RPM to be about 4500 max at 130 km/H in 4. gear.... The overdrive is worn or cant handle the torque...
Could it be because of the mild camshaft? , that it cant rev to more than 4500 rpm under load?

Hello I have an 1983 17D engine (which i suspect has a worn camshaft) 9.35:1 compression from a Range Rover: it should be rated at about 124-126 HP DIN at 4000 rpm. there is no restrictor in the inlet manifold! according to my knowledge they pared the high compression range rover engines with a low ...
