Is there fuel in both carbs? Is it being sucked out of the jets? If you remove the inlet trunking, and shine a torch at the jet, you should see the fuel being drawn past the jet. Does it look similar on both carbs? On my P6 3500S, I had a poor seal at the bottom of one jet - which took ages to find...

Carb swap

Hi does anyone know if throttle and choke linkages can be swapped between
early Range Rover and P6 hif carbs as in desperation I am going to try a swap.

Are you 100% certain that the cam is timed in correctly? Check your ignition timing again. What coil are you running? Have you replaced all air and vacuum lines? All hose are new. If the followers were worn then the cam will also be worn, Rover V8's are notorious for cam wear.

The worn cam was replaced with a new 3.9 cam from V8Tuner.

Problem is wont run without choke. Have so far rebuilt carbs and fuel pump changed cam followers and timing chain. Tried electronic ignition. And its still the same.

Have changed every gasket seal on inlet side also tried spray. Have blocked off servo hose and vacuum advance. No change. I'm stumped.

Hi New to this forum. I have a 71 Rover 3500. I had running issues. I have to date replaced the following Camshaft lifters timing chain rebuilt carbs changed cap rotor and leads tried electronic ignition rebuilt fuel pump.
