Evening, I’m trying to identify a set of pistons I have in my3.5 rover , they are stamped on top rtc2887 20, I assume the 20 relates to the +20 sizing but can’t find out the origin of the pistons, any insight would be appreciated

Re: Rv8 3.9 problems
When I back off the throttle from a higher speed or going down hill it leans right out to 17-18:1 momentarily, in crawling around traffic it's probably a bit rich at low 13s , but if I lean out that how would that affect the rest of the range which in general seems ok?

Rv8 3.9 problems
Afternoon, I've just got back from the 1st longish trip since building the engine, covered about 250 miles down to lands end and back, anyway the car runs fine at cruise and on acceleration but it is very jerky and stumbles with very light throttle when in traffic or around town, I thought I had eli...

Which carb to manifold gasket?
I've got a Holley 390 carb sat on a offenhauser 360 manifold via a open square adaptor plate, the manifold is split left and right by a centre divider running front to back, my question is which gasket should I use, a square open one or a 4 hole one?, also the little centre 'jet' on the base of the ...

Re: No spark frustration
It would appear so, the engine is on a test stand with a large earth strap to the the frame from the engine block and then to battery earth, the coil and most electrics were on a separate but attached frame, after running a earth strap from this frame to battery earth it worked :) , it was so frustr...

Re: No spark frustration
Woo hoo, I have a spark!, not a particularly fat one but I've got one, I disconnected as much as possible and ran an earth wire direct from battery neg to the coil mounting point, it's a starting point, I'll now start reconnecting things and then hopefully get the efi working to test it then swap ev...

Re: No spark frustration
I think there should be some photos of the coil, I've stripped back the wiring got rid of the kill switch so it's as basic as it gets, the red wire to the coil is a switch live, brownish wire to rev counter, red/white to amp, white to amp, how much simpler can it get? Engine turns over but still no ...

Re: No spark frustration
Just tried this , it only drops to 9v, what does this mean?, the test stand is wired through a kill switch could this be the problem?

No spark frustration
I'm trying to get my newly built 3.9 rv8 to spark, it's on a test stand and will eventually run with a Holley carb but at the moment I'm purely trying to get a spark from it, I can't even get one from the coil to distributor King lead, I've tested and swapped as much as I can think of now I'm run ou...

Remote ignition amp
I have a 35dlm8 dizzy on a 3.9efi rover with a remote amp, when I bought the engine the lead from the dizzy to the amp was missing, I've bought a new amplifier, the question is from the small connectors on the side of the dizzy which wire goes to which connection on the amp? Does polarity matter?, I...

How much wiring can I lose?
I'm nearing the end of a 3.9 rv8 rebuild which I would like to run with the original 14cux injection mainly as I have it and it may be interesting/satisfying to get it working, the engine is going into a cobra so I'm losing the air con andpower steering, my gauges are etb classic ones. The question ...
