Air filter problem

I can't believe this has been going on so long but I'm nearly there. I've made a bit of a big deal out of it but learned a lot in the process ( like aluminium brazing. Good once you get the hang of it )-------- photo's soon.
Thanks for all the suggestions

I've read all this with great interest. Having had good working power steering system I drained the steering and replaced the return pipe while installing a new engine. I refilled the reservoir and bled it in every conceivable way. No bloody power steering. Absolutely none. I've spent a week at this...

I race a TVR and had 3.9 dizzie with a 4 chock Webber on top which ran really very well and got 260 bhp on the rolling road. I've since spent £15 grand and got 365 hp and a hell of a lot of complications. Yes it's great but I think I would just consider something else next time. It can be expensive!

Yeah! It's very tight but I can't see why something can't be made up. For instance a 20mm plug only needs7mm thread and total plug length is less than 15mm and you can shave off some of the head. If you tighten it in the.port and mark the direction you want the pipe to come in from, drill hole throug...

How much space do you actually have.
Took me a long time to figure out the picture thing --- you have to put it on the web - tinypic or something like that and extract a code for your post.
A pic would be helpful

It's the " Turkey Pan"!----I've actually got a one piece light weight front end (and a lot of work to fit it) waiting and it's just asking for the turkey pan and reverse flow air feed from the bottom of the wind screen as per that MG on the link you gave me. I started to fit this new engine at the b...

Yes I've been known to spend a bit of time off track so I think that's a no no Hey Ian, I think the tea strainers sound very promising and will try to get some gen on that but I'm struggling to get a "vision" of the turkey pan thing which sound like the solution. Sorry if I'm being a thickco but I p...

Hey, much obliged to all of you. 1. Airflow is paramount 2.I've emailed ITG 3. I did not get Mr Eales to build the engine so I've got a wee pang of conscience if I have to get him to sort it out 4. In the mean time Il speak to my engine builder about different trumpets, but I know that this was an i...

Thank you gentlemen!------ you guys certainly keep long hours. The car is purely track only and I suppose in truth i don't know what level of filtration is really needed. I like the box idea but would grit and children perhaps be all I need for track and I want to try and catch the last race this ye...

Trumpet air filter problem

Air filter problem. I've got a John Eals X over manifold with thottle bodies and trumpets. They have all been balanced and set up on the dyno so I don't want to touch the trumpets but as you can see on photo there's precious little room to put anything. I'm told to avoid socks and am therefor lookin...
