Re: Water flow around cylinders and heads.

I think I've answered my own question....

Seems coolant is pulled into the block via the pump then extracted from the block via a slot port at the rear of the cylinder heads. it then flows along the cylinder head to the front of the port in the cylinder head and out into the the inlet manifold.....

Water flow around cylinders and heads.

Im pretty sure this has been covered in the past, but bear with me. The coolant from the bottom hose on the rad gets sucked in via the pump. However, the the injection manifolds, the rear water ports in the head a blocked off......So, is there a way for the water to circulate from the rear cylinders...

Re: Cooling issues.

Never seen one of those before....looks like it has three 32mm ports. As it happens, I did buy the longer part for my connection to the inlet manifold (i.e. feed to top of rad).

Re: Cooling issues.

I received the thermostat today....it is indeed 82degrees...i wonder if they started doing some after market ones as my Haynes manual also suggest they run at 95... 669466CE-283A-4A14-8469-2439B849D621.jpeg And here it is installed...definitely an artificial heart!. 36600E01-9672-4225-BC91-8AD29A94D...

Re: Cooling issues.

Just had a quick look around....some refer to them as 82 degree...now Im really confused!: https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/oenumber/pem101130.html https://www.amazon.co.uk/U-ESSENTIALS-Coolant-Thermostat-Housing-PEM101130/dp/B078LKW14M Anyhow...it could be that its fine as 95 stat...I think I just ...

Re: Cooling issues.

I've ordered the P38 version as this appears to be 85 degree stat...more importantly, now I've researched these things there is also one other crucial function that was missing from my last set up (and quite possibly the reason for my problems). Its regarding the thermostat bypass pluming. the inte...

PEM101130 connection sizes.

On the off chance, does anyone know the port sizes on the pem101130 Thermostat . I realise the main rad in and out are 32mm, it's the other two (thermostat bypass and header tank / heater) connection sizes im looking for. I suspect they are either 16mm or 19mm, or indeed a mix of both....but, could ...

Re: Cooling issues.

Just looked at a load of other diagrams, and I agree, I seem to be completely wrong...god only knows how I ended up getting it so wrong. looks I need one of these, and remove the thermostat from the inlet manifold (but why is there a perfectly machined cut out)......looks like a robotic heart!. Re: Cooling issues.

Another thought - Regarding the outlet to the 'throttle body hot spot' on the top of the manifold....I've looked at the diagram and I can see no reason why this is even needs to be connected. The larger 16mm connector should do a perfectly adequate job of by passing the thermostat. What do you think?

Re: Cooling issues.

Ok..sounds good..only one that won’t work, is the connection to the middle of the header tank. This one is the overflow, so only works if the pressure in the header tank goes too high. I guess ‘T’ ing it to the rad vent......

Re: Cooling issues.

Hi Chris..just to clarify, when you say ‘top 19mm hose’, do you mean the Connection coming up from the inlet manifold (originally meant for the throttle body hot spot).

I prefer option 1 as I have next to no room on the bottom hose.
