Pre load
Hi Guys, I've just installed a Viper Hurricane cam in my Rover 3.5 with new std lifters. I also put in a Cloyes timing chain and used the standard keyway - not either of the 4º options. When I checked the lifter pre-loads, the gap was pretty massive on all of the valves - probably around 150 thou' o...

Re: Very little oil at rockers...!
Sorry for the late response, been on a journey with this one. I did check the rockers and all the holes were pointing in the right direction. Cliff was exactly right the notches appear at the front and back and are therefore in the correct places. The problem turned out to be a sticking relief valve...

Re: Very little oil at rockers...!
Using the drill I'm getting oil at the rockers on both sides. On the left side (2,4,6,8) it seems to be what I would expect. On the right side (where I originally checked) not very much, but I am getting a little. I checked the iD markings on the rocker shaft to ensure it's the right way around. The...

Re: Very little oil at rockers...!
Hi Ian,
Yes I'm running a remote filter. I've got oil flow from the pump, through the filter and into the output hose so I think the flow is correct.
The remote header has an arrow showing input.
So Output from pump to input of filter.
Output of filter, back into the pump.

Very little oil at rockers...!
Hi All, Just completed my first v8 new build and running into a few oil problems at start-up. Firstly, no oil pressure. Span the pump via the dizzy. It eventually primed and I got a good stream of oil coming out of the hose that feeds the gauge. Started up the engine. Can't get more than 10 psi at t...

Re: Mocal oil pump cover
I finally got the hoses connected to the remote filter using 150º & 180º 1/2 connectors with barbs to take a 5/8 hose. I took out the original connectors in the oil cover head (1/2 to 5/8) and simply screwed in the new ones and then attached the hose to the barbs. Straightforward in the end! I'm now...

Re: Remote oil filter
Thx for the heads up Chris. I’ll check this out and find out what connections go where.
Undoubtably I’ve got them wrong and will have to make up some new pipes but better that than blowing my new engine

Remote oil filter
Hi I’ve just come in from fitting the pipe work from the oil pump to the remote filter bolted to the inner wing. What a mare it was. I just noticed a little arrow on remote filter air which I assume is “input”. I’ve actually added the output pipe from the oil pump to it and to be honest I’m not sure...

Mocal oil pump cover
Hi there, I've installed a Mocal Oil Pump cover and I'm struggling with the pipework to the remote filter using the pipes I got in the kit (5/8 pipes with 3/4 UNF fittings). Ideally I wanted to fix the remote filter to the inner wing but I can't using the existing pipes and fittings so I thought I'd...

Flexible Brake Hose
Hi there,
Does anyone know where I can get a flexible brake hose. It connects from an Austin Princess calliper to my MGB brake pipework (Metric to imperial). Clive Wheatley used to make them up but doesn't do so anymore.
Any ideas please?
