Re: How easy is it to refurb a 3.54 Powerlock Diff?

I actually ended up with a 3.07 as you suggested.

Was easier to buy a good one and install so that I can get the old one out to sell on or refurb, cant make up my mind yet.

Its a XJS LSD 3.54 so worth something to someone.

How easy is it to refurb a 3.54 Powerlock Diff?

I need to refurb my diff. Is this a job for a diy mechanic? It's a XJS 3.53.

Are there any special tools other than pullers required?

Thanks Mark.

Re: New rear seal needed on T5 box

Thought I would post this so someone can learn from my mistake. I assumed the prop seal was leaking, so I ordered a couple of seals. Jacked car up, made safe on stands. Removed under tray to expose prop, no leak!! Further investigation found the drip was from the bush I made when I took the speedo d...

Re: New rear seal needed on T5 box

Didnt think of the screw idea. Seems simple enough and may be safer, dont want to damage the case.

Thanks for the idea.

Re: New rear seal needed on T5 box

I have ordered a new seal.

The size of the output shaft is 34.9mm. Not 39.9mm as I previously stated

What method do you guys use to get the old seal out? I simply use a srew driver, deform the seal and lever it out.

Is there another way?

Thanks Mark.

Re: New rear seal needed on T5 box

Thanks Guys.

Managed to get under the car and get the numbers off the seal.

They are TC 35 55 9 and TT0 E509. Shaft is 39.9mm diameter.

Thanks for the information where to get the seal.

Cosworth T5WC output shaft.

Does anyone have a output shaft for a T5WC?

Hopefully one with 23 splines for the 5th gear.

Thanks.

23 spline 5th gear needed.

Bit of a massive balls up. I have a 23 spine main shaft which the 5th gear slides onto. My 0.8 year wasnt in good condition, it was the only gear I didnt change when I rebuilt the box. So sent away to Hanlon for 0.71 and they sent me a 28 spline. So I either need to find a way of fitting the 28 spin...

Re: Judder in reverse.

I know it's been a while. But taken the box out to put an over drive 5th in. Now 0.71.

While apart I dialed in the bell housing, it was 0.020 out North/South and 0.025" East/West. Now spot on thanks to some 0.014" offset pins.

Its been a steep learning curve, thanks to YouTube.

Inspection hole on my T5wc box.

I have a large inspection hole on my Ford Cosworth T5 box. I have been told a TVR bung/grommet will fit. Has anyone got a spare I could buy, or know where I can get one please.

I have made a Ali plate, but it's rubbish and needs screwing on.

Thanks Mark.

Re: Cosworth T5 to RV8 4.6 and Dowell pins

I managed to make some 0.014" pins, they dont look great but are accurate.

Have got the run out to below 0.004".

Not easy, but hopefully will work. It was 0.020" out.
