If anyone has a knackered head for a small block Chevy let me know. I'm going to do covers for those next and I need a head to work from.

volospian, I will make a logo for them to go along with the lettering too, they're £185 a pair and £25 delivery in case anyone's interested. daxtojeiro, I've bought a RV8 to go in my Morris minor and you're right, it's awful looking, I'm thinking of doing one with the intake on the front instead of ...

I wouldn't be able to do them smooth on top without making a new pattern. They will have baffles if they are wanted on them, for a pair like in the pics they won't be needed but if someone wants them it can be done. TVR covers, no problem, I can do these with any lettering on top and I have TVR badg...

I've some more pics of progress on this one.The wood pattern was used to make an alloy pattern http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx169/demag2001/V83_zps2721b3d3.jpg After a load of machining I had a finished pattern. http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx169/demag2001/V84_zpsf65ce5ff.jpg Cast the fi...

jeboa, thanks for the offer but unfortunately the aluminium shrinks as it cools after pouring into the mould so copying an existing cover would result in a smaller cover but the pics are good enough to get an idea of it from. I've made a casting from the wood pattern I posted and that becomes my new...

Those LS engines are sexy and I'd love to do covers for them, I'm watching some heads on ebay and if the price is reasonable covers will be produced. I'm going retro with the Rover V8 covers, something no-one has done before, wood. :) http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx169/demag2001/v8_zps55a960a5...

You're dead right, I've only been to a couple of local ones, too busy working. :)
Does anyone know how much taller they'd need to be to clear high lift rockers?

Unfortunately I live in Ireland and theres no drag racing here and due to our road tax (£1500 per year for a 3.5 ) a 2.0 is considered a big engine so theres not really any more "modern" V8s around. You only get cheap road tax for over 30 years old and most of those are unmodified so theres not real...

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I might have to make 2 types, one the same height as the originals to fit standard engines and a taller one for modified engines, anyone know how much taller they would need to be? I'll have to see what I can do about baffles, I might try to cast them into the cove...

Hi, they won't be the same as the original, I just use the originals to get measurements from, they'll be completely different. Another question too. The top part of the cover with the fins is slanted on the ones I have, is there any reason the cover can't have all the sides the same height when loo...
