I wanted to do a Morris Minor in a Gasser style, but if I do it the way DVLA want it will be very hard/impossible. So I will keep looking and hope to find something already registered, as you suggest, so open to anything that takes my fancy really, but maybe I will buy a Minor and just do it little ...

Called into a VOSA test station today and spoke to an inspector. Roughly speaking he said that as the car will have no year of manufacture DVLA will make a decision and from there it will have to be tested on that basis. He said he couldn't even guess what DVLA would say but the shell even if it is ...

thanks for link, I had read it just before you posted it, it does not tell me what happens after they have decided the car will need testing apart from it needs a test. I will email dvla and see if they will answer my questions. I did email vosa and they say its dvla who in tern say its a vosa thing...

Thanks, I will look at the sites. I have not built a car in years, and do not want to start something that can not be put back on the road because of dvla rules, so I am asking questions before I start. I am happy, ish, for them to want to make sure the car is safe, I say ish because I am not a love...

Rover v8 in a mk3 cortina. It worked ok. Used a zodiac (mk2 I think)rear axle but it kept breaking it. So went to v6 capri axle.
