In fact we decided to use 4.6 heads instead. Aren't we all doing it mostly for the fun of it rather than as an effort for the maximum possible specifications? Looking for 3.5 SD1 camshaft/valve timing figures - any ideas for figures best-suited for my intended hotch-potch combination of parts?

Off to look for a Haynes manual as every place I googled seems to point the uninitiated to the Holy Book of Haynes.

Thanks for both comments - the engine is going into my little Land-Rover rat rod, a SI 86", so no particular concerns about high performance, this will be just an occassional music for the ears  The heads will be from an SD1, the timing cover from a 3.9, there will be a boxer manifold on to...

SD1 cam in a 4.6 V8 with a distributor?

It seems there's a good few people here who seem to pour data out of memory, so just a quick quiz question from the ignorant one  Would an SD1 cam be any good in a 4.6 V8 adapted for distributor? Would this be a benefit or a deficiency performance-wise? Obviously there's a problem of the distr...

After having a 3.5 V8 from a P6 installed in a SI 86" and cooling it with an SIII rad with a Kenlowe fan, I think it might be the best to find some more substantial radiator. It does work most of the time, but I will be looking for a larger rad myself (been told some scrap Renault Espace rads might ...

Not much of a technical guru, but after having bought an LT77 I do have list of pages I went through when buying it. Some identification help can be had here: http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk ... oductId=78

There's a DIY bike carb manifold kit on eBay at the moment - can't access the auction from work, but using the right keywords will get you there. 138 pounds though (as far as I remember).

That's what I am used to from other UK forums and I never actually thought otherwise until I failed to receive the item two weeks later. My bad, should have used eBay, but sometimes you can't resist a bargain, can you  All is not lost as I have found a friend who is located close to the addres...

I paid a member on here for an inlet manifold and never got anything back... The member no longer picks up PM's, his email address is not working and he apparently disappeared off the forum...

Yes, noone can be trusted unless you know the people really well

V8 James

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble getting my messages through to a user on here, V8 James. Does anyone here know him personally by any chance?

Many thanks,
Jan

Hello from the Czech Republic

Hi everyone, registered recently after lurking around the net to source some additional goodies for my 1954 Land-Rover Series I fitted with a Rover V8, either a P6 or SD1 lump. For those who like pics: https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/282323_10151167044177299_922094606_n.jpg ht...
