One word for what its worth, on the 4-2-1's I had some on a 3.9 110 a couple of years back and I think they were only about 1 3/4" diameter which was ok and an improvement on the old cast iron ones but I believe 2" or bigger would be less restrictive and work well if you are porting.

It's going to take me few weeks to get my engine swap done but I'd put my name on the guinea pig list. Only thing is a 4.6 gems Land Rover 130 aint exactly a racing machine!

Right, I just bought a 4.6 gems of fleaBay (wish me luck) I want to run efi & ignition with variable adv/ret for lpg. I'd like to run a tacho & temp control (run richer up to temp), plug a laptop in (goes without saying) I've only got a mac are they pc only??

Are they any good? £495 seems a decent price if its mega squirt.

I've been looking at the mtech £495 I'm just trying to confirm that it will run a gems 4.6 fuel injection and ignition, and another is the dta but I'm not sure on cost on these.
I can't really be bothered learning how they work I just want to fit it and get going.

Mega squirt seems very expensive especially as I've discovered 3or 4 alternatives in the last couple of days.

Cheers for that, it's nice to have a basic summary. Ive been on the mega squirt website and i find it had work. It seems to assume everyone knows the lingo, I do like the look of the nodiz though I think that is the way forward. I may as well go injection from the outset as I would have to buy carbs...

Hi Dave, Do you mean use carbs at first or can the range rover ecu be used? Does the Thor or gems make any difference? This is new territory for me so I'm still sussing out what The squirt seems a lot more expensive than the jolt ?? Or maybe I'm looking at the wrong things in comparison . Cheers Mar...

No I'm on standard ignition and going to time everything back up to petrol only and see if that helps matters. I'm looking at 4.0 thor and 4.6 gems p38 engines next week (I wanted a cross bolted block) so I'm going to have to look at megasquirt/jolt etc to run the dizzy less coil packs anyway. Do yo...
