R034 blower ?bhp?

Howdy folks, have had an R034 knocking around the garage for years, the lobes are in quite good nic. I was going to put it on my Capri. I've set the CR and the injector size to cope with up to 8psi and have been running the engine in n/a since it was rebuilt. Now the time has come to mount a blower ...

Iain, i can't remember the dimensions off the top of my head. The pickup pipe determines the depth of the new sump pan as being the same as the...

Could you not just use the cardboard template and mark on the piece you have removed. Cut it out and spot weld back in and add the vin into it at the same time
:whs

Looks like you'll be needing an IVA test then...
(just kidding! ) Great project btw, keep up the good work

Think Godfrey and Marshall blowers are VSCC elligible unit/design, that's probably why it went for a high price. As the only alternative for prewar vintage racers who want a decent sized blower is to have one made to pattern (i.e mega-bucks!)

Last time i was on the rollers i turned it into an oil bath, it was a disaster!! Since then i've rebuilt the engine and redesigned the sump but haven't been back to dyno it yet.
Good luck with your project, why not start a thread on your conversion?

The manifolds are pressed & tubular steel flanges are stainless.

Have you checked out Rodney's 1Uzfe TR7 project -

forgot to add - flanges are stainless. So no point in making up up something that BMW has already done nicely! hth

Width between heads on M60/62 is a problem for a lot of engine bays (about 710mm/28") I kept getting oil leaking out the rear crank seal with my new bodged sump on a 530 V8 and then the same with the sump fitted to a 740 unit, and i think the problem was not having enough fall on the big shelf. The ...

hi folks

Wish i'd found this forum ages ago, really impressed by some of the projects and 1/4 mile times. My current projects are a BMW M60 V8 in a Ford Capri, and some vintage sidevalve stuff. Recent work has been having the block linered, porting the heads and re-making the sump. Still a bit of a shoestrin...

I like the variety of cars featured in PPC, they featured my Capri a few years ago. Will & Kev clearly have a thing for V8s. But i think the magazine as a whole has lost it's way a bit recently by trying to emulate Top Gear in their articles. Real enthusiasts need hard facts, like printing the fact ...

BMW M60 V8 - sump bodge

Hi all, i wish i'd browsed this site 4 years ago before i started fitting an M60 into a Capri - i like BMWE36's appoach to modifying the oil pump and was impressed with those dyno results too, which show the breathing potential of these motors with exhaust & mapping mods. To avoid the crossmember, i...
