i have seen it a few times on older Volvo's and BMW's. Bosch parts, very similar to the FPR on a RRC V8 EFi system.
It happens. But it's very easy to check: start engine, pull the vac line, see if fuel squirts out, in doubt smell for fuel coming out. If YES, replace it.

Sounds like your mapper needs to answer a few questions. You shouldnt be fouling plugs, misfiring or any of those issues if it is mapped properly. maybe the fuel pressure regulator is broken? When the membrane inside is torn the pressure on the injectors will no longer be controlled and the full li...

windscreen wiper moter RRC

can a wiper motor function at half power? My wiper moter can only wipe the blades over dry glass very slowly to the point of nearly stopping halfway. i took the moter out and it ran nicely without the mechanism attached. i opened up the gearcase and there was enough grease in there. No damage to the...

Is your coupling OK? have you checked it, worth checking periodically. If you have a tyre chirping or spinning out on loose surfaces (gravel) your coupling maybe seized, another sign is unusual tyre wear. tire/tyre  wear is normal and i don't recognise any chirping or spinning problems you de...

Tire wear on 4x4

My RRC has a ZF automatic and is supposed to be fulltime AWD. I think it has a visco coupling between front and rear axel So here is my question: how far off are front tires allowed to be compared to those in the rear? My front tires have 2 - 3mm thread depth My rear tires have 7-8mmthread depth The...

maybe you can use an axel from a Volvo 740/940 diesel? they come with a tall ratio (Dana internals) and with rear disk brakes as well.

lately ambient temps have been going up. i had good hopes that my cooling problems were solved when i installed another viscofan. I was wrong.... temp gauge nearly in the red. again!! WTF! :x This could only mean 1 thing: the radiator could not exchange/dissipate the heat into the air. Either becaus...

the expansion gap is shared, the 2 tanks are effectively 2 communicating vessels. Only the outlet to the evaporator has an electric solenoid valve. additionally both tanks have an overpressure relief valve that is connected to the outside air via vent hoses. (in case the car burns while the tanks ar...

in one of the tanks the 80% limiter was taken ou That is very dangerous - why have you done that? Chris. why? more range. i don't agree with your view. Remember, in my setup i still have 10% expansion space left. With some carefull management it'll be no problem, it's being done all the time (just ...

little update: today i ran the twin-tanks to 8% left. I had no issues while driving and the indicator/gauge which is installed in the old 1st tank is still useable. Filling: i managed to squeeze in 95L on top of the 8% (= about 10L) that was still in the tanks. The tanks are both 60L capacity , in o...

twin-LPG-tanks

Yesterday i took the RRC to an LPG specialist to have a second LPG tank fitted. That way i will have 2x 60L + the entire stock gasoline tank available for increased range. The 2 LPG-tanks will be coupled so i can fill them in one go. I have opted not to have them mounted under the car but rather ins...

Since i got my RRC i did not change the oil/filter yet but i did have to top it up every now and then. I used 10W40 for this since i had it standing around already. This turned out not to be a good idea. When the engine was totally warmed up (highway runs) the oil pressure warning light started flic...
