Re: Engine stumbles powering thru corners

My Dakar (4x4) would go rich when turning running an edelbrock. Essentially it was down to fuel sloshing around in the bowls and going down the plughole due to how a 4x4 tends to lean over on corners.
I solved the problem by binning the carb and fitting megasquirt :)

Re: Distributor roll pin

The very cheap one calipers on Ebay are made of plastic or "Composite reinforced" or whatever. Not really what one would call precision instrument  Generally, this is where quality stuff is worth its price in the long run. If you just want to measure the diameter of a bolt or roll pin or thick...

Haven’t got anything other than a ruler so can’t very accurate on the hole in the gear that’s already predrilled Given that verniers are cheaper than a pint of beer there's no reason not to have a pair in your toolbox: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353606580040?hash=item5254983748%3Ag%3An8MAAOSwstZhCq...

You could, of course, do as the SD1 does. The transmission cooler is in the rad. So will be heated too under some circumstances.
And fill your trans up with coolant and turn your rad into strawberry milkshake when it springs a leak :)

Re: Automatic gearbox oil temperature

The oil typically is the exit from the torque converter back to the sump. Small 14 row mocal oil cooler will do the job - no need to overthink it.
you wont overcool it.

Re: My Supercharged V8 Capri Conversion

got the greatest of respect for steve and you rosco - but i must admit my eyebrow raised when you said it should be putting out 32psi and further still on the 17psi of boost must be leaking and a some of the other thought process. I'm not o-fait with the engine details, i assume it's running 45mm tr...

Re: HELP - FIRST CRANK - NO OIL PRESSURE

Just had the same dilemma with a mates' serp v8 - no oil pressure on cranking (a totally new engine) - general advice was to start it, which i did with some trepidation - i still didn't come up instantly, bit did after probably 30 seconds - which was a bit worrysome. As others suggested, I had the o...

Re: Thor Bannana Plenum

not sure you even need to cut the manifold up - there seems to be enough space to bolt the elbow to the end of the existing one?. Jetex sell a very tight 90' in steel - you could weld flate plate to the ends and make it a bolt on. https://jetex.co.uk/custom-exhaust-parts/products https://jetex.co.uk...

Re: Thor Bannana Plenum

thor manifold would be the best bet in a 101, gives more torque than the gems and previous hotwire plenums.
is it not possible to rotate the the thor plenum 180?

or get an elbow fabricated to rotate the throttle body 90'?
