Re: Jag IRS info?

The Jag IRS of choice for the narrow Ford Pop (sit up and beg) is an LSD version but using S type drive shafts it all remains narrow this way 8-) they are very strong and will take big block V8 abuse  .... up to a point however then the drive-shafts become the weakness

Re: 1UZ-FE AFR varying between banks - A problem?

Have you considered cam timing difference from one bank to the next ? a failing water pump bearing could create this error or damaged cam pulley key-ways etc

Re: Rocker Gear lubrication

<r>Some builders fit restrictors to limit rocker oiling this increases oiling elsewhere also, often carried out with roller rockers etc and no not standard, unless its been fitted with hollow push-rods the single front port on each bank to cyl head is the only oil supply to rocker gear <E>8-)</E></r>

Re: Rover V8 cylinder head porting advice.

I've always pressed the guides out. A 12 tonne press does the job just fine. Chris. Yep me too :D stuck the heads in front of a space heater pressed 32 out and after porting 4 heads (long story) used same method before pressing in bulleted set , then off to machine shop guides reamed and seats recut

Re: Rover V8 cylinder head porting advice.

Using the Real-Steel larger 41.5mm inlet valve I managed to increase the valve seat insert by 4mm+ just be careful when pushing things I used engineers dye to keep things in check and not break into the increased valve sizes seats future area

Re: Rebuild of a RV8 4.6 instead of the 3.9

Your uncompressed fuel in the cylinder wont be an issue just because your running a 285 duration cam with wasted spark  in cam terms thats not huge, lots of us running more severe profiles and wasted spark with no issues

Re: Lucas 14CUX on a 4.6 ?

Yes 14CUX will handle a 4.6 ok, they tend to run rich at low revs. Only at very top end does it struggle a bit to keep up as it runs lean at the top of rev range. Not if mapped correctly they dont 8-) fueled many a well breathed on RV8 at 5 litre plus and making over 350hp :D stock injectors are th...

Re: Can I pass 1990 emissions in UK with a carb?

Ian this guy may be your man  he can map the Lucas and worked with the guys that cracked the software lots of happy TVR customers using the CUX/Lucas that he tuned/re-mapped 8-) although like yourself I also run a single Lucas plenum and struggle 238 solid cam etc etc and also struggle a littl...
