I looked at all of this for the Lotus. The reason that camcoat is so much cheaper is that its a paint that sprayed on and then cured. Zircotec start with a nearly pure ceramic material that's then sprayed on using some kind of plasma gun, this basically welds it to the material and is also the reaso...

Also, what style of charger? Makes a difference as to what you would choose.

Cheers, I've created the pin-out for the standard harness. I was going to cut the plugs off and solder to the MS piggies I've got (as I believe we discussed on the MS forum). I could also connect them directly to the MS plugs as you suggested but I don't have the tools to crimp them. Not looking for...

Megasquirt Install Help

Hi Guys, this is not v8 related but there seems to be a big MS following on here, so thought I'd ask. I'm putting an MS3/X in the Lotus. I've built and tested the ECU and it's now time to install. I've never done anything like this before, so was wondering if anyone who has would be willing to come ...

How can you dial in the timing properly without a dyno? Wouldn't it be worth getting a good base on the dyno? Then your tweaks/mods wouldn't require as much to account for.

Depends on the tune you are going for really. The best is to actually merge both into a single pipe for (from memory) 18" - 24" before splitting them again.

How about a centrifugal blower? I believe those are particularly well suited to N/A conversions?

Mike, what kind of brakes are they? 2 pot/4 pot? I might buy them from you.

I would think that you'd want it as close to the valves as practicable, so on an RV8 that would probably be in the plenum.

I think ideally it should be mounted in plastic rather than metal, to stop heat soaking into the sensor from it's boss. Might be hard to do though

Is HC hydrocarbons? i.e. unburned fuel?

If it's misfiring then that's the place to start. Could be the plugs, leads, dizzy etc or it could be that the fuel filter is blocked. Have you ever changed it?

Edit: Just seen you've posted while I was typing. That's a likely culprit

Wowsers! Could get a centrifugal blower setup for that money?

Would work well with Higher CR due to boost rising with RPM?

Cool, I'm still inclined to think it's pressure related. Perhaps one tappet that's a bit dodgy and bleeding down too quickly? As far as I understand that's exactly how the rhoads lifters work. They bleed down quickly at low RPM to reduce cam duration (and are noisy as a result) but then pump up to p...
