Porsche owners are a funny breed, mess with anything that isn't the way it was meant to be and they go apeshit.... so when i rock up with a Jap V8 shoehorned into one, well you can imagine.

I have owned my 944 for several years, she is a basic 2.5 NA and i really enoyed it until this happened.... a bus decided to not want to take a corner properly, locked up and took me clean out. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/paddy1970/Img_1709_zps5f702f5c.jpg So she has been off the road for...

Porsche 944 V8

Surely i mean a 928? Well no, the V8 from a 928 won't fit in a 944 chassis, and it weighs a ton, so instead i've stuck a 1uz-fe from the Lexus LS400 into my 944. Still a way to go but it's mostly done.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/paddy1970/Woodsport%209/2014-09-16172302_zpsf52865ab.jpg...

That needs an adapter plate though, the BH patterns are totally different between the E153 and 1UZ-FE. A guy in Norway did this on a MK1 Mr2, tubeframed out the rear and mounted it transversely, but the car gets chopped beyond all recognition.

Going inline mounted is by far the "easier" route.

Hi Mike, had i seen this thread sooner i would have given you the same advice as Kiwi has, it is a major undertaking to say the least. If you decide to have a go i'm more than happy to help you with whatever advice you need to make it happen, but it is important to go into this with your eyes wide o...

Finally got the R8 exhaust system fully welded up and fitted today, she sounds much much better than the old TVR silencer, nice and quiet at idle but still with a nice bellow when revved, looking forward to hearing it under load now.

Hi Chris, yep it does everything on the R8 that a full front engined system would do, only difference is a front engined car gets the whole length of the car for various silencers and Cats, the R8 needs to pack it all into a 2ft space, which is great news for me.

Today saw more exhaust work, making this R8 system exit out the back of the car has been tricky to say the least, but it's finally done. Jay and Phillis were on hand to help me align the quad pipes, it was a right nightmare getting them all in line as i needed to make double sweeping bends to get fr...
