I have to agree - when my car was set up on the rolling road the vac advance ended up being disconnected.

I had the car back on Sauturday just to re-check as I'd fitted new fuel pump, regulator and filter and it topped out at 204bhp but we were having a little bit of clutch slip so it is probably slightly more - in any case the torque is available immediately so the car pulls away quite well :)

Hi Mike It is running tubular manifolds but, at the moment, it's 4 into 1 each side with no balance pipe. I do have an X pipe to go in at some point, when I get time, and this should give a little more torque :) I'm hoping to have it done before a rolling road session I'm going to in April but we sh...

Not a specialist in LT77's but definitely a gearbox specialist who really knows his stuff and rebuilt mine. He regularly rebuilds boxes for a lot of the guys I know that race as well. Good job and reasonable rates.

It's a kit which from Edelbrock which contains the jets, metering rods, springs etc. for the specific model of carb so the tuner can try the various combinations. Rich, who did mine down at Motoscope went through about 3 combinations before he was happy. http://store.edelbrock.com/calibrationkitsfor...

I had to supply the calibration kit for the carb as it's not a model the rolling road I went to deal with often - they're more used to twin 40s / 45s

That's as far as we took it - we'll see where it stops when I go back for just a full power run :)

"Plot" from 3.5

I finally, after 7 months, got round to taking the car back for final setup, jets and metering rods etc. and I'm very happy with the results. The car's not running massive power, as you'd expect from a n/a 3.5, but it's pulling over 195lbft from 2,300rpm to 5,300rpm and with the rebuilt and regeared...

Absolute luxury..One night in the dead of winter with snow 10' thick, middle of the moors, no moon and -30C, I was cold and hungry, dressed only in shorts and T shirt, my big-end went. Fortunately I had a spare set in the ashtray together with a broken penknife in the toolbox. No jack but still I m...

I just refitted mine into my van, laying on my back, slid the gearbox on to my chest, heave it into place and put the bolts in, bit of grunting involved but wasn't that hard :D Third time I have done that, and I am not exactly a large bloke either! You guys need to harden up! :D I did that with min...

Just had mine rebuilt (road / track) and the advice was similar, get it up to temp and check for leaks etc then just drive it for 100 miles or so up and down the box with various loads (some hilly lanes are the best) and don't stay at the same speed too long. Oh and keep away from full throttle :)
