Re: Thor conversion

You could just run Thor standalone with a mapped ECU from Mark Adams. The wiring isn't straightforward, but it's the easiest way IMHO. Chris. From what I've seen, wiring seems to be the thing most find the difficult bit to do well. At one time it would have been coping with the software. :D Hi Dave...

Chris.
Hi Chris, funnily I have a Mark Addams ECU collecting dust I believe it was from a TVR. I must get round to selling it off.

Thor conversion

Hi guys I’m currently working on converting my 3.5 efi over to ms3 with a Thor inlet plenum conversion. My question is this, there is a small water outlet barb fitting next to the water temperature sensor at the front of the Thor unit which is plumb to heat the underside of throttle body. I have no ...

Re: Megasquirt - RusEFI

Hi Dave it’s going on to a 3.5. I’m more interested in 0-60 than top end performance.

Re: Megasquirt - RusEFI

Just like to say thanks for everyone’s help and have decided to go with the ms3, and thanks to Phil at extra efi who has helped me with a list of items needed for my project. I now have a list of questions regarding the Thor inlet manifold but will create a new post for theses.
Cheers paul

Re: Megasquirt - RusEFI

Hi thanks for all your comments guys much appreciated, thanks scudderfish I’ll contact Phil at extraefi today. Stevieturbo any reason why COP would be difficult I thought that would be the easiest with the least space or is it the wiring? Thanks for the info on the phase trigger. Garrycol, unfortuna...

Megasquirt - RusEFI

Hi guys I’m looking for some guidance, I’m currently running a 3.5 flapper with a 4cu ecu it has a 3.9 cam with flowed heads and I’ve decided to change the ecu as I know it won’t cope with the next engine upgrade, which is a Thor inlet conversion then I have an Eaton m90 supercharger to go on. So I ...

Re: Over heating

I believe I have found the problem. I have just recently fitted a sump pan and I think this has reduced the air flow around the engine substantially causing heat in the engine bay compartment to rise significantly. Since removing it I’ve had no problems looks like I need to rethink the design of the...

Re: Over heating

Hi dave, I’ve checked the amp which was ok but have made a bigger heat sink for it with ducted air flow over it. CTS and AFM both reading good. I’m really hoping it was the amp. I’m so seriously thinking about converting to Megasquirt! It’s been a year since being on the road and have only just cove...

Over heating

Hi guys here’s an interesting problem for you. Took the sd1 3.5 v8 flapper for an MOT, unfortunately the engine overheated which seemed to put it into limp mode now I’m sure the ecu which is the early 4cu doesn’t have this function. Anyway I pulled the ecu overnight to clear the errors took it for a...

Re: Trying to set timing!

Hi Sidecar, So what I will do this weekend is, disconnect the vac hose and measure what the timing is at 4000 rpm. I'll get back with the results asap. Hi SuperV8, I did remove the water jacket plate under the throttle plate and two of the four holes used to bolt this plate did go through to the inl...
