I recently fitted a offy manifold to a rover v8, [500 carb] ..trouble is the bad running at low speeds was found to be air leak on manifold to the heads..[new comp gasket fitted].. so i removed it all and cleaned and refitted using another new comp gasket, this time with blue hylomar on each surface...

I have mgb v8 engine mount brackets.... {the ones in your first pic are conversion type ..... one set would put the engine set further back in the chassis ,, look at the center line of the ruber mount to the other set..../ the second pic are mgb gt v8 OE type) i think i have both types......Steve Yo...

could you run a wire through a diode from the starter relay to the positive side of the coil? so when starter is switched on to crank the wire would become live to byepass the ballast direct to the coil... but once running the diode would stop current going back to the starter ?if you know what i me...

ive got a rv8 short motor that has been bored out to 3.9/4.0lts {was 3.5} came out of running mgbv8 ,, could do with new crank bearings. didnt smoke etc... £100 ........any good to you?

i need a spigot bush for my rover v8 engine , im fitting a t5 gearbox.. do i have to ream out the spigot bush for a lt77?? or can i buy the correct one?

Sorry to butt in on this , but i would like to know more about this legislation...Is this just for kit cars etc? that have to pass a sva type test?or does this affect anyone putting a v8 etc into say a classic car? when did this rule apply from??,.... thanks Steve

Hi all, i just been offered a v3 megasquirt ecu that has never been used.... it was brought for a zetec 4 pot but the guy couldnt get it to run??. he says it must have been a 'software'problem??,, how easy would it be to 'reprogram' this to be able to run my rv8??? where can i get it tested..... or ...

It looks like the engine would fit into the mgb without doing all the suspension mods the he done,mx5 front end etc .. The sump shape looks to suit the mgb front crossmember!.. Has anyone ever heard of a mgb v8 conversion using a ls series chevy engine??? i went to the kitcar show today and my eye was drawn to the LS3 engine on display.... massive power and not much bigger than my rv8 engine in my mg.... food for thought me thinks

You blokes really know how to worry me. ... my mgb has 5lt rv8 engine/cossy t5 box/ mgrv8 axles/ modified tunnel /modified inner wings {rv8mainifolds} /mgrv8 4 wings fitted... is it law now for an MOT man to report me?? or is this in the future??..... im off to buy an allegro!!!
