according to des hammils book the vast majority of late interim blocks have the large main caps of the 4.0/4.6 but the main bearing tunnel is machined for the small journal crank.

I've got a 95 disco late interim 3.9 in my 110.

(38D low comp 8.13:1 cr, 36D are 9.35:1 cr) Although has high comp pistons now The...

I'd fit the 4.6 - the extra torque will be better with the auto.

No idea Dave, I did it on a 4.7 (bored 4.6!). Reckon there was a lot more grunt at low rpm's which was what I wanted as it was in a 4-speed auto 110 weighing 3.4 tons! It seemed to run out of steam at around 4400rpm but that could have been cam choice as much as anything I reckon. I fancy trying a ...

get in on a rolling road to set it up and you may see more and get an accurate reading of power. The cam is very good for on road - and is ok for off road - perhaps a purist would want more lower down grunt but my 90 is light and it does fine, i like cross country / mild hilly off road as opposed to...

how do you find the H404 cam with a landrover?

you could change to injectors and MS to get more power - would have thought you would have more than 293hp with your set up.

I'd like to get more out of the 3.9 in my 110 but not got the cash sadly :(
