the thermostat is 88'c is it worth buying one that opens at a cooler temp now its off

this one works fine after testing bang on 88'c it opens but wondering if a cooler one would be better

advise before i take action

ok my engine is heating up at wat i would class as a normal time frame (no fan fitted yet ) but although there is pressure in the water sytem and no leaks seen the outlet pipe from raditator dosnt seem to fill with water it dose warm up with the engine and i can feel movment but im able to squeeze t...

today i went out (week after TC came down) put a charged battery on and bang started first time awsome then heated the engine through and turned it off left it till temp gage was half way and started first time awsome i think it was a case of everything just need to blow through and then settel back...

ok i have the right back box and manifolds etc but as got a rover v8 in a ninty and i can BORROW some parts from work for it i manged to lay my hands on a stright pipe and silencer but they from a tdi will this work on my lany or do i need a different type ???

now my manual is here i plan to take them off friday afternoon and spend weekend cleaning and stripping and searching for replacement bits if needs so should all be back on and good to go on sunday afternoon but then this is me we'er talking about probley about 7 more threads before i get it all run...

ok well i think ill stick with wat i got and do a service best i can on them i got a manual coming just for them so that should explain a few bits and need to get timming done then give it a goodclean and see how that goes may look at changing next year if problem contiunes

ok blond moment coming are solex the same or very simalar to to kenith stromberg cause the carbs are solex but the discription in the manual discribs them as kenith stromberg the pictures are of the same cabs (through my untrained eyes lol)

ok new carb refreb kit on its way so i need to get the timing checked before i take them off ?? or should i be ok to take off refreb and put back on

and its a manual chock just needs slight adjusting

sorry engine is a 3.5 rover v8 carbs are Solex no mods and timing sounds ok although it on my list of things to get checked
